Description:
Here is a very nice Continental Artillery Officer's coat button.
According to Troiani this is a French imported style made of repousse
sheet copper. The back would have originally been a wooden insert with
cat gut cords. This example is missing the wooden back which is common
on dug examples. This is the exact button pictured in both of Troiani's
works on Revolutionary War buttons

Nice button with the turret shank. The detail is a little weak but
easily readable. The Soissonnais Regiment was active around New York and
Yorktown, Va.

Description:
Very nice large coat size button with the intertwined USA on the front.
The stand up shank is intact. This one has been lightly coated and 1CR
written on the back for the 1st Conn. Regiment. The planchet is straight
and the USA is bold. This button has been coated. No restoration!

New York Volunteers (3rd American Regiment) Coat Button (Rev. War)
Description:
Here is a nice large size enlisted man's button. The center of the
legend has a crown over "NYV." This is a seldom offered button and quite
scarce. This particular example is missing the shank and has some edge
loss. The cracks around the edge have been filled with glue. to
stabilize from further deterioration.
