Z1704 Civil War / Early Indian War Era Infantry Lieutenant Colonel Shoulder Straps
Description: Here is a very nice pair of matching unissued infantry shoulder straps. This particular set is for a Lieutenant Colonel and has a silver leaf instead of a gold leaf for a Major. This set has a cable pattern border which is quite scarce. The cabled border is approximately 3/8" across and is surrounded by an inner and outer jaceron border. According to Dr. Howard Lanham, this pattern was available in the 1864 Schuyler-Hartley and Graham catalogue. The leaves are made of dead and bright bullion to create an accent. The field is a greenish/blue velvet and appears to have faded over the years. While this set is matching in almost every detail, the fabric on the back is slightly different.
Measures: 1.5" x 4.25"
